I am quoted here a long with Dr. Concetta Tomaino, director of the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function in New York and Dr. Michael De Georgia, director of Music and Medicine at University Hospital’s Case Medical Center.
This is a great interview about the team work process in Brain Injury Therapy. The 2 other therapists are great friends and some of the best colleagues.
This is my first international interview from the London Telegraph. This opened so much more than I could ever imagine. A wonderful lady from England was studying Music Therapy at a University in France. Her parents showed her the story and she connacted me about studying Neurologic Music Therapy at our hospital in Texas. She came fro several months and even went to Colorado to be fully trained in NMT with Dr. Thaut and his colleagues. She is now back in France and spreading the word about NMT in rehabilitation. I am so thankful to have done this specific interview for that purpose. Thanks England :-)
explanation of speech and song. Bob Woodruff’s Interview with Maegan Morrow and Oliver Sacks on Music and the Brain.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta spent a day in the life at TIRR, receiving typical BI rehab, including Neurologic Music Therapy…I even gave him Dr. Thaut’s book :)
